How we match cold pack shapes to the body
We build gel cold packs in circular pads, wide belts, and contoured joints wraps. Choosing the right cut depends on where the fabric sits, how the straps secure, and the exact dimensions listed on each pack.
Small areas like the jaw, cheekbones, or under the eyes require compact surfaces. We make circular gel cold packs measuring 4.3 inches by 4.3 inches and mini packs at 4.5 inches by 3.2 inches. These compact designs fit into stretchy sleeves or sit flat on small areas without extra fabric hanging over. They take up minimal space in the freezer door and freeze completely in two hours, or warm up in the microwave in ten seconds.
Knee wraps require tailored tailoring to move with a bending joint. We sew full knee wraps measuring 21.7 inches by 9.8 inches with a Y-shaped closure. The strap splits into two sections that wrap around the quadriceps, while a smaller strap fastens underneath the knee. We also narrow the popliteal section behind the joint so the fabric does not bunch or pinch the skin when the leg bends while sitting or walking.
Broad flat sections of the body need wider coverage and longer fastenings. For the torso, we build wraps paired with belts that support waists up to 46 inches around. The flat rectangular shape covers the lower back and tailbone without folding. The gel inside these larger packs stays pliable down to -13 F, so the wide surface rests flush against the flat curve of the back or hip.
Curved body sections like the neck and shoulders require long, flexible channels. We fill neck wraps with gel beads that shift inside a casing made of PVC on one side and plush fabric on the other. This lets the wrap drape directly across the collar and curve over the top of the shoulders. The plush side acts as a mild cold barrier, while the smooth PVC side allows direct temperature transfer.
Reading the size line helps you select between targeted pads and full wraps. Flat packs work across broad regions like thighs or backs, but joint areas require specific cutouts, closures, and adjustable hook-and-loop straps. Checking the measurements ensures the straps reach around your limbs and the gel section fully covers the target area.
