How we make cold packs for smaller bodies

Standard cold packs often slide off small arms or overwhelm little faces with too much weight. We scale down our patterns and fill them with pliable gel that bends around narrower curves. The smaller dimensions ensure the pack stays exactly where placed instead of drooping over the edges of a smaller frame.

Fabric selection is central to these designs. We sew these sleeves with hypoallergenic plush and stretchy, soft textiles that create a physical barrier between bare skin and frozen gel. We also reinforce the construction with double-seams so the gel remains sealed inside through regular handling and repeated bending around joints.

Head and face wraps come with adjustable hook-and-loop fasteners to allow hands-free use. Our dedicated head wrap cools after two hours in the freezer, while the jaw wrap set includes four reusable gel inserts in green or purple wraps with three-dimensional character faces. With four inserts in the box, an adult can keep two packs chilling while two are inside the sleeve.

Joint wraps in the range are shaped for limbs, knees, elbows, and ankles. The kids knee pack comes in a set of two and includes adjustable straps that secure around joints measuring up to 14 inches. The internal gel stays flexible right out of the freezer, molding flat against the curve of a bent knee or elbow during a standard 15 to 20 minute session.

Adults should manage the preparation and timing for every application. A parent checks the temperature of the fabric side against their own wrist before placing it on a child, manages the microwave heating or freezer time, and watches the clock so the pack comes off when the session ends.
