How our cold packs stay secured to the body

Holding a cold pack against a joint ties up your hands and slips out of place as you move. We build wraps, elastic straps, and sleeves so our packs stay put while you walk, sit, or work.

Straps give you full use of your hands while keeping a cold pack in position. When we design our knee ice pack wraps, we use a Y-shaped closure that splits into two separate bands over the thigh. This wraps around the leg above the joint while a smaller strap secures below the knee, keeping the 21.7 by 9.8 inch pack flat against the front, back, and sides of the joint without bunching up in the fold behind the leg.

Sewn sleeves and internal pockets hold small gel packs precisely where you place them. Our wisdom teeth head wrap features built-in fabric pockets that hold drop-shaped gel packs against the jawline. The outer band uses a hook-and-loop closure that adjusts between 23 inches and 27.6 inches around the head, so the four drop-shaped packs remain seated against the cheeks without any manual gripping.

Direct contact between frozen plastic and bare skin can feel sharp, so we construct dual-sided covers with different fabrics. Our cooling eye masks pair a smooth plastic side with a soft plush backing for direct face contact, held on by an adjustable elastic strap. The knee wraps feature silky nylon on one side for maximum thermal transfer and a soft plush fabric on the other to provide a thicker textile barrier against the skin.

Compact round packs rely on stretch sleeves to cover small surface areas. Our set of six 4.3 by 4.3 inch circular ice packs uses puncture-resistant plastic backed with non-woven fabric. Each small pack slides into a soft elastic sleeve that stretches around a cheek, wrist, or jaw, holding the gel against rounded contours for up to 20 minutes at a time.

Joints require tailored cutouts and elastic tension to stay covered during motion. Our ankle ice wrap measures 11.8 by 6.8 inches on its active cooling surface and uses a 17.5 by 1.96 inch stretchy hook-and-loop strap. The strap wraps around the foot and lower calf, locking the pack against the ankle bones while the gel stays pliable down to -13 F after two hours in the freezer.
